Gathered Marketplace: Perfect For Mother's Day
I've never had a green thumb. My grandmother and sister are INCREDIBLE at keeping plants alive and flourishing but that superpower bypassed me. Therefore, I typically don't do flowers.
At least, not until recently.
What would usually have me panicking turned into a confidence boost when I met the owners of Fayetteville's Gathered Marketplace. Our group took a floral design class while visiting Leclair's. Right away, owners Meagan and Amanda eased our apprehensions and let us know we "really couldn't get it wrong with flowers."
I was ecstatic to hear those words!
With vases waiting on the tables, I chose my seat and settled in. The ladies of Gathered Marketplace brought over an assortment of flowers for us to choose from. Oh how I wish I could remember the names of them all! Le sigh. They were so beautiful. Feel free to chime in if you recognize the flowers! I adore spring colors and instantly felt my mood lift!
I chose what I needed to create my masterpiece. After conquering the Herculean feat of figuring out my shears (Lol!), I got to work snipping, arranging, and then rearranging. Both Meagan and Amanda walked around giving individual attention when necessary. They are refreshingly skilled at wiping tears and stroking egos when you think you're doing it all wrong! They've obviously done this before.
I thought of my mom with each flower I put in the vase. Although not an expert, she's much better at the whole flower thing and would definitely enjoy attending a workshop at Gathered. It would be a great self-enrichment class or even Mother's Day gift to give. Eureka!!! If we can't make it for Mother's Day, we can go another time for sure.
My design didn't come out too bad. I was quite impressed and happy to step out of my comfort zone once again. What's your verdict? Did I do okay?
Collectively, I think our group knocked it out of the park! Great job ladies!
