Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh VIP Grand Opening
It was an invitation I couldn't refuse and after reading about the Alamo Drafthouse VIP Opening Extravaganza 80's theme, it became THE party I couldn't miss! This was my chance to pull out my many pair of leg warmers, color-block from head to toe, and not hear that leggings aren't pants! (Btw... I wear what I want.)

The day before, my family spent a few hours at Goodwill frantically searching for the perfect (aka brightest & most colorful) party attire! Johnny and I searched high and low until we had the right pieces. Simple but definitely 80's.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by smiling staff members and an array of scratch-made food. The initial party invitation hipped us to awaiting challenges/games which turned out to be a really fun scavenger hunt! For each mission we completed, we earned a pin. The goal was to collect 10 pins and then receive a prize. Too much time at the food tables and Video Vortex bar didn't get us the ultimate win, but we walked away with some pretty cool items. Hooray for gift cards!!!

I was so impressed with the whole vibe of Alamo- especially the Video Vortex rental section. I haven't seen so many VHS movies in years! They are available to the public for FREE rental (Did you catch the FREE part?!). I was enjoying myself wayyy too much to find my take-home movie, but Johnny found one for himself pretty quickly. Lol! If you have access to a VCR, this place is a gold mine! Thank goodness we still have a keepsake VCR in our possession.

If all you've read about this place isn't enough, wait until you experience it for yourself. Guests are welcome to eat a meal inside or on the patio to enjoy the weather. Feel free to grab a drink at the bar or have dinner served to you while catching a movie. You sit in reclining leather seats, check out the menu, and place your order. That simple. We saw Ready Player One btw. Good movie and the food is scrumptous!
And don't worry parents... Alamo has you covered. Check out their Alamo For All Program. They make sure to accommodate families and those with special needs during earlier hours. Noise, lighting, and other needs are taken into consideration to ensure a pleasant and smooth experience for the whole family! Phenomenal!
I cannot express how much fun we had at this event. We definitely needed the opportunity to let loose and doing it 80's style was all the rage! Meeting other attendees was icing on the cake! We cannot wait to visit Alamo Drafthouse again. It is definitely THE PLACE to be! Follow Alamo on Facebook, Instagram, and other social channels to keep up with the excitement.
