Spirit in the Land- A Media Preview Event
I count it an honor to receive an invite to the preview of this new exhibit at Nasher Museum of Art. It was as insightful as it was beautiful. The 30 artists who contributed to Spirit in the Land phenomenally expressed how interconnected the natural world & our personal identities are. Through various cultural perspectives, viewers are moved to look more closely at our environmental problems & our dependence on the environment (land & sea) itself.
My oldest daughter joined me for this event. After mingling, we enjoyed light refreshments & heard opening remarks from Wendy Hower & the exhibit's curator, Trevor Schoonmaker. A few artists were in attendance as well & spoke about their artwork.
What a treat!
If you're in the area or can make a special trip, see Spirit in the Land for yourself. It's an experience to learn from & appreciate. Plus, you may be introduced to new artists. I've shared a few photos below & you can see a short reel in this Instagram post.
Always a pleasure visiting Nasher Museum. I gave know-before-you-go details about it in a previous WRAL article. Find that here. And to watch the vlog of our first visit, scroll to the bottom of the page.
