A Classic Halloween Experience

We survived Halloween 2016 without drama! That gives me hope and confidence in humanity. If you've followed me for a while, you know I was a pissed off mama who could've ended up in handcuffs last year. (Read about it here)

I'm proud of my family. We purchased costumes early for the kids which rarely happens. Alora chose Bat Girl and Vivia chose Wonder Woman.  I hope we can make early shopping a regular thing because nothing's worse than sorting (last-minute) through Halloween aisles in Walmart! (You can watch our costume shopping experience here)

I even researched activities ahead of time. Yep... I had it going on this year y'all! Some of our activities included :

  • Early trunk-or-treating
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Hayride
  • No-scare haunted house
  • Halloween games
  • Watched horror movies (kids & adults)
  • Adult haunted house and spooky trail

I think I'm most proud of Johnny and I for visiting an adult haunted house and trail. We hadn't done that in years and it was our thing before parental life took over! We have finally committed to making haunted houses a Halloween priority for us! This time around a miracle happened and we turned it into a date! You can see a bit of our night on our Youtube channel Thrillerdise. Just click the video below and we hope you'll subscribe, too.

Halloween turned out to be a busy day overall but we ended up with exactly what we waited for ... CANDY!!! No, it wasn't just the kids who were excited; Johnny and I couldn't wait to get our hands on Twix, Reese Cups, and Peanut M&M's! We found our trick or treating tribe downtown in well lit neighborhoods with welcoming families, porch lights, and eager, candy-hungry parents kids.

We felt right at home!

Our kids had a classic trick or treating experience and it was worth every sore spot on our tired feet! I can't wait until next year!
