Uncomfortable Is The New Norm

I'm sitting on the living room floor with my kid's socks in the background. Does that tell you how personal I'd like to get? I mean, we're virtual friends right? No need for facades here so lets talk.

Too many of us believe we can take on the world and reach our greatest achievements alone. With time, we learn that's a lie. Even if it's just one person to hold us accountable, encourage/mentor us, steer us in the right direction, give us a chance to prove ourselves, buy that item we created or book we wrote, we need someone.

WE ALL DO!

A goal at the top of my list is finding my tribe. Sure, I have very supportive loved ones but I also desire positive connections to progress my career. People who inspire me to level up and won't accept excuses from me. I, in turn, want to do the same for them.

WHERE MY PEOPLE AT???

Networking is not sufficient. I'm determined to do better with reaching out and building relationships. Collaborating with other creatives is a necessary step in the right direction. I'm passionate about seeing my goals and dreams come into full fruition.

Aren't you?!

It's time to step out of our comfort zones and risk looking or sounding weird if that's what it takes. As someone who can be socially awkward, I definitely understand the resistance you may be feeling. You, like me, may have been labeled antisocial or standoffish at some point in your life. Well, maybe you are and that's not always a bad thing. However, if you're more like me, you may simply be shy. I always have been.

Still, we must find a way to embrace and push through the shyness. We can't afford to allow it to stop us from reaching our full potential. Dammit, our goals are depending on it!

Uncomfortable has to be the new norm. The things that make us nervous and put our belly in knots are the very ones we need to attack. If any of us are going to (FINALLY) see our visions materialize, we have to be willing to do what it takes. I am (nervously) ready and definitely willing to level up my performance.

How about YOU????

What goals are at the top of your priority list? Are you making preparation and taking necessary steps towards them now or waiting for 2018? In what way(s) are you determined to level up?
