A Bold Purse I'm Loving For Spring

Once you lose yourself in life or relationships, coming to your senses again is a hard pill to swallow. You no longer know what you like, what’s trendy, nor what you even want. In this blog post, I shared a little about my love of shopping but why I haven’t in a long time.

Hanging out at shopping centers & seeing what attracts me is how I’m rediscovering my fashion sense. It’s my new thing to do when there’s time. I’ve found that former go-to stores no longer suffice because my style has changed. Now I’m slowly purchasing pieces that reflect more of who I am & what I like.

No more grabbing random items solely because they’re on sale. And although it’s nice having the scoop on the latest or popular thing, I’ve never been one to really follow the crowd. I wear what I want & in the spirit of Marie Kondo, if it doesn’t spark joy-light me up inside-it doesn’t come home with me.

I’ve bought a few items over the past weeks for spring. Making changes is fun but I’m in no rush in any aspect of life. I’m going for quality. Quantity will come in time.

In this post, I’m sharing a new purse I adore & continuously get compliments on. At the start of 2022, I told you I’d share some of my finds. This is me keeping that promise.

I’m feeling present, alive, & excited to take you along as I rediscover who the hell I am & what I like.

WHO AND WHAT

Aldo didn’t come to play around. I was drawn to the bold colors of this purse at first glance. Yet, it was my oldest who pushed me to purchase it. She said “Mommy you have to get this purse. It just looks like YOU with the tropical vibes and bright colors!”

My girls know me well but you see… I still sometimes struggle with worthiness & lack mentality. After denying my wants & needs for so long, it feels weird buying things not solely for the household or my daughters.

No worries though my friends… I’m quickly getting reacclimated!

SIZE MATTERS

When it comes to purses, I usually carry large ones I can FILL with personal items. I despise needing something when I’m out but not having it. This became my norm after having children. Every bag turned into a diaper bag. I got use to always having what I need.

Nowadays, I’ve found myself downsizing. I only want things with me that are vital.

Yes, I’m speaking of purses & the contents thereof but this is also true for me in every other area. For too long I’ve held on to things, people, & places I shouldn’t have. I’ve now let go of attachments & only want to be surrounded by whomever or whatever is true & brings me joy.

This Aldo purse is one of those things.

Although it won’t be the only one I purchase this season, I’m taking my time. Rebuilding a wardrobe is inner AND outer work. I see it as a form of healing because not only does it involve self-expression, it’s about self-identity. And I’m here for the entire process. Not just the fun stuff.

THE DETAILS

There are six compartments to this purse. Get a peek at them in this Instagram reel. You won’t be able to stuff this beauty with anything you don’t need. It’s nice carrying smaller bags for a change but I am on the hunt for one that’s just a little larger.

The long shoulder/cross body strap is a big plus for me. With two busy, maturing daughters by my side, I need hands-free capabilities. The shorter handle is perfect for more formal occasions & date nights.

I’m all for the sturdiness of this bag as well. In my opinion, the style, chain, & overall quality help it to sit tall & avoid wrinkling. As for the multitude of colors, it matches with almost anything.

I’m curious to know which brands you recommend for purses. Who has never failed you when it comes to quality & style? My new one perfectly reflects how I feel on the inside… bold & seeing life through super colorful lenses!
